1- Articles submitted to the journal shall not be submitted elsewhere for consideration or publication. Articles, if accepted for publication, shall be copyright-owned by the Ankara University Research Center of the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) (digital/electronic media included) with all its publication rights. Articles cannot be published elsewhere without DEHUKAM’s consent.
2- Article proposals should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org,with the copy of the proposed article attached.
3- Article proposals should include the traditional and electronic contact details of the author(s).
4- Abstracts in Turkish and English, as well as key words in Turkish and English, as applicable, shall be included at the beginning of the Articles.
5- Articles shall be prepared in Microsoft Word or Microsoft Word 5.1 for Macintosh format.
6- The main body of the text shall be prepared with: the TimesNew Roman characters, 11-point measures, 1.5 line-spacing, 9 nk paragraph spacing;
Footnotes shall be prepared with 0.5 cm indentation, Times New Roman characters, 9-point measures, 1 type in spacing, 0 nk paragraph spacing;
Quotations shall have 1.5 cm indentations from both left and right sides, in “ditto” marks, Arial Narrow characters, 10-point measures, 1.5 line-spacing, 6 nk paragraph spacing.
Headings inside the text shall be arranged in the times new roman characters, 11-point measures, 1.5 line-spacing, 12 nk paragraph spacing.
8- A footnote marked with a star shall be placed at the end of each author’s name under the articles title. In the footnote, the author shall indicate his/her institute affiliation and title.
Ex.: Ankara University Faculty of Law, Lecturer, Department of Maritime Law.
9- Foreign or technical words in the articles shall be specified in italic font.
10- Regardless of the footnotes, names in the main text shall not be shortened unless necessary. When shortening is necessary, the name shall be given as a whole and the shortened version shall be added in parenthesis next to it.
11- First references to sources shall be made according to the following examples:
For the high court of appeal’s decisions: 11. HD, 17.11.1981, E. 1980/4528, K. 1981/4880 (Access Source).
For books: Serezli, F.: Borçlar Hukuku, C. I, Özel Hükümler, B. 4, Ankara 2016, s. 14.
for articles and presentations: Serezli, F. – Korhan, T. H.: “Yabancı Bayraklı Gemilere Ziyaret”, DEHUKAMDER, 2017, C. I, S. 1, s. 17, 21.
12- References to the same author’s publication shall be shortened in accordance with the following example below:
13- When making references to the same author’s multiple publications, the abbreviation that will be used shall be specified at the end of the first reference in parenthesis and shall be shortened according to the examples below:
For books:Serezli, F.: Borçlar Hukuku, C. I, Özel Hükümler, B. 4, Ankara 2016, s. 14 (Özel Hükümler).
For articles: DEHUKAMDER, 2017, C. I, S. 1, s. 17, 21 (“Ziyaret”).

14- If the article refers to a legislation for the first time, this shall be specified with the date, number and access information (Official Gazette date and number if there is one) shall be added to the footnote.
15- Any resource, which is obtained from the Internet, shall be specified with the date of its access (for example: accessed on 23 October 2018).
16- Articles with potential but considered unsuitable by the Editorial Board for publication in DEUKAMER in accordance with these guidelines, shall be returned to the author for modifications before resubmission to the referees.
17- Articles considered suitable by the Editorial Board for publication in DEHUKAMDER in accordance with these guidelines shall be sent in blind for independent peer-review by at least two referees; and following a satisfactory referees’ reports shall be published; an article with less than satisfactory referees’ recommendation shall be returned to the author for modification and resubmission where necessary; and an article with an unfavorable referees’ report shall be declined publication and the author shall be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
18- The Editorial Board, while considering articles for publication in future issues in the event of over-submissions, shall give preference to articles, with strong referees’ recommendations or request the author(s) to shorten their articles.
19- While referencing any article that was published in the journal, “DEHUKAMDER” pseudonym shall be used.
